Folding Partitions

Folding Doors

MATERIAL

Materials used in the fabrication of folding door panels, fascia, metal jambs, hangers, and supporting structure and operating hardware are free from defects impairing their strength durability and appearance. Ferrous materials are electro galvanized.

PANEL CONSTRUCTION

Panels of not less than 3” thick are fabricated from 14-gauge electro galvanized face sheet steel. For sound attenuation and visual interruption, panel joints are manufactured with an integral overlapping of the neighboring panel. Overlapping is not less than 1/8”wide. Two adjacent overlapping panels form a continuous flush surface at all panel joints. Steel face presents a flat surface with a maximum tolerance of 1/16”in 40” centered either in the vertical or the horizontal plane. Panel face is free from welding marks. Panels are provided with not less than 14 gauge galvanized steel closure channels at top and bottom securely welded to both inner faces of panel. Panels are reinforced, drilled, and tapped for all mortise hardware such as hinges, flush bolts, hanging rods, automatic drop bottoms, mortised lock, etc. Hinge reinforcement to be not less than 3/16” thick. Not less than 3 heavy-duty hinges per panel are provided.

Operable Partitions

MATERIAL

Materials used in the fabrication of metal panels, fascia, metal jambs, hangers, and supporting structure and operating hardware are free from defects impairing their strength, durability, and appearance. Ferrous panel material is electro galvanized in accordance to ASTM A-879 with zinc coat of not less than 1.5 mills on each face or Hot Dip galvanized type G-90 in accordance with ASTM A526.

PANEL CONSTRUCTION

Panels and pass door of not less than 3” thick are manufactured from 16-gauge electro galvanized face sheet steel. Panel face presents a flat surface with a maximum tolerance of 1/16”in 40”in either the vertical or horizontal plane. Panel face is free from welding marks. Panel is provided with not less than 14 gauge electro galvanized steel closure channel at top and bottom secured by means of spot welding to both inner faces of panel. 16 gauge galvanized vertical channels in both ends of panel running the full height of the panel are provided. Channel is spotwelded to both inner faces of panel. Panel is reinforced, drilled, and tapped for all mortised hardware such as flush bolts, automatic drop bottoms, etc. When in the extended position, two adjacent panels present a fully smooth, clean, uninterrupted flat surface, free of panel edge trims.
